Session Description:
Understanding body language in business is a critical element of communication. Our verbal and nonverbal cues can enhance our ability to communicate effectively. We will learn how to read micro expressions and how to use decoding and encoding when understanding someone’s communication style. We will address how to read between the lines of what is not being said and how to ask questions to enhance our understanding and compassion. We will discuss how to use virtual cues in a virtual or hybrid environment. We will learn how to present ourselves and how to signal confidence and calmness to others through our hand gestures and expressions. We will utilize insight, interaction, and inspiration to help everyone learn effective professional body language for business.
Session Objectives:
- Percent of discussion that is verbal, nonverbal, and implied
- How to use decoding and encoding in understanding your customer or teammate
- Understanding the four main communications styles
- How to read microexpressions in others and how to determine if further discussion is needed
- How to display positive body language to convey confidence, understanding, and compassion
- How to effectively lead your team
