        8:00 - 8:30 AM  Registration & Breakfast

8:30 - 10:00 AM  The Metrics You Need to Manage Your Practice - David Gans, MGMA

Your practice management, accounting, and electronic health record systems generate massive amounts of data, but may not provide actionable information to measure practice productivity and efficiency.  The solution to your data overload is to identify the management metrics you need to make critical decisions.  Instead of drowning in data, you can use a few key metrices to manage costs, identify opportunities to improve revenue, optimize staffing levels, and assess provider productivity.

The session will feature a case study to illustrate how using a few, but the right metrics, can make the difficult task of practice management easier.

        Learning Objectives:

        1. Describe the fundamental difference between data, reports, and actionable analytics
        2. Explain how to use actionable information to manage a practice
        3. Identify the management metrics that evaluate:
        • Staffing levels
        • Provider productivity
        • Practice efficiency
        • Practice profitability
        • Revenue cycle performance

Cyber Security - Sitima Fowler, Co-CEO, Capstone IT

Are you 100% sure that your practice and your family are protected against becoming a victim of cybercrime?  Do you know what security gaps you should be looking for?  Do you know about the latest innovations in Ransomware?

In this one hour presentation, you’ll discover:

        • How online criminals are adapting their tools to find holes in firewalls and anti-virus
        • How the growth of technology has made their daily efforts STRONGER and SNEAKIER than ever
        • The hardcore costs of cyber-crime and how it affects your business and personal wellness
        • What online criminals search for most and what you can do to block it

It is NOT safe to assume your current security solution is effectively protecting you. Claiming ignorance is not an acceptable defense, and this giant, expensive and reputation-destroying nightmare will land squarely on YOUR shoulders. Sitima will cover the latest trends that cyber criminals are using NOW to invade your network and what secure options are available to keep your data, clients, and employees safe from attack. In the end you’ll learn the absolute best ways to protect your practice, your loved ones and yourself from cyber-crimes.

        2:00 - 3:00 PM
Employee Engagement: The key to improving patient satisfaction and staff loyalty - Rita Markle, Chief of Learning Officer, Performance Management Partners, Inc.

Employee Engagement is the emotional connection an individual feels towards the organization that drives commitment/loyalty and maximum job performance.  Engaged employees feel more connected to their jobs, and will go the extra mile to provide great quality care for your patients, residents, or clients. Research has shown that 85 percent of engaged employees display a genuinely caring attitude toward patients, while only 38 percent of disengaged employees do. Engaged employees are more likely to stay with their current organization, allowing you to retain the talent you’ve worked so hard to recruit.

During this session, you will learn an engagement framework which outlines drivers and outcomes and how they impact patient satisfaction and business results.
