A request to cancel a registration and/or request a refund must be made in writing to Info@NewYorkMGMA.com
.  An administrative fee may apply for a cancellation received within one week of the event. We regret that a refund will not be issued to an individual who does not attend the event.

Event registration implies consent that any pictures or video taken during the event can be used for event coverage and promotional purposes. New York MGMA is able to use your likeness without remuneration.

    How to Register for Computerized Exams

      1. Exam Eligibility - Before registering for the exams, you must be an active participant in the ACMPE program (Your application, application fee and documentation of a minimum of two years' experience in an ambulatory or other healthcare management position and a minimum of six months in a supervisory role must be approved.) For additional information, please read more here.
      2. Exam registration fees - You can pay your exam registration fees through the MGMA online store or by calling toll-free 877.275.6462, ext. 1888.
      3. Confirmation of eligibility - You will receive a Notice to Schedule email five business days after the exam registration window closes. You will receive one Notice to Schedule per exam. This will include your personal user name and password allowing you to make your exam appointment at a designated testing facility.
      4. Select exam date, time and location - With your user name and password in hand, you must follow the link provided to locate your specific exam site and schedule a date and time to take the exams. Please note that you must book one appointment per examIf you have registered for both exams, you will need to book two appointments.  Exam site hours vary by location. You will be able to choose any available appointment that works for you during the exam window. Please note that exam appointments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so scheduling early will help ensure the best choice of appointment time and location. Directions to your selected exam site, procedures and other information will be provided to you in an email from our testing vendor, Castle. Please note, we only use Castle’s US locations.
      PLEASE NOTE: The ACMPE continuing education requirement has changed effective January 1, 2019. The requirement is still 50 credit hours every three years, but those 50 hours must now include 30 hours from MGMA state, local or national learning, including at least 12 live hours. In addition to face-to-face events, attendance of a live- teleconference or real-time webinar also counts as live. The remaining 20 hours may come from either MGMA or qualifies outside sources.

        About the examinations

        • Multiple choice: Registration Fee $165
          A 175-item, multiple-choice test taken within three hours and 15 minutes. This exam assesses your on-the-job knowledge of the broad scope of group practice management principles and practices as described in the Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management
        • Scenario: Registration Fee $165
          Questions presented as multi-select, multiple choice, short answer item, or drag and drop matching that focus on critical skills/knowledge that a candidate would be expected to show in the described situation given within two hours. This exam assesses in-depth knowledge of medical practice management principles and issues, problem-solving and decision-making skill.

          Computerized exams locations

          ACMPE has partnered with Castle centers to offer approximately 500 exam sites. Once you register for an exam through the MGMA store and your eligibility has been confirmed, you will be provided with a user name and password that will allow you to select your exam location, date and time. Please note that you won't be able to schedule your exam appointment at a Castle testing site until you have submitted your registration fees and eligibility requirement.

          ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

          Dr. Kent Bottles has held a number of leadership positions in academia, biotechnology, and community health systems. At the University of California, San Francisco, the University of Iowa, Allegheny University of Health Sciences, and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, he has served as tenured professor, chair, medical director of managed care, corporate operations officer for ambulatory services, assistant dean, residency director, designated institutional officer, and elected medical school executive committee member.  Dr. Bottles served as president of the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI) and as chief medical officer of the Iowa Health System, a $2 billion integrated community health system in the Midwest.
          He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his M.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.


          Jacob serves as Executive Vice President over Business Development at The Medicus Firm, where their company’s focus is providing permanent recruitment solutions for healthcare organizations.  Mr. Simon has an extensive background in the recruiting industry where he specializes in consulting on healthcare provider needs and recruitment strategies.  In his time at The Medicus Firm, Jacob has worked in nearly every state to help client’s find their desired healthcare providers and his passion has always been connecting people.  His involvement in business development, training, and strategy has contributed to The Medicus Firm becoming an industry leader in physician recruitment and consulting. Prior to beginning his career in the physician recruiting industry, Jacob served for 4 years as the National Recruiting Coordinator for Northwestern State University football program and their recruitment of student-athletes. His experience allows him to work closely with management and internal recruiting staffs to evaluate and provide marketing insight beneficial for strategic planning.

          About the speakers

          Sara E. Visingard, Member, Harris Beach PLLC
          Sara counsels public and private sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Sara frequently presents seminars and provides training sessions on employment-related issues. She also assists employers with the development and revision of employee handbooks and company policies. 

          Sara’s work includes the defense of clients against complaints brought in administrative forums, such as the State Division of Human Rights, the EEOC, and the federal and state Departments of Labor. She also represents and counsels educational institutions with respect to student issues, day-to-day operational issues, board of education issues, and labor and employment matters. Sara has completed mediator certification training through the Center for Dispute Settlement. She facilitates workplace conflict resolution sessions for private and public sector entities, including educational institutions.

          Sarah received her JD, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University and her BA, cum laude, from Nazareth College.  

          Ibrahim Tariq, Associate, Harris Beach PLLC
          Ibrahim advises public and private employers in all areas of labor and employment law, and also assists in representing employers in litigation. Ibrahim was a Summer Associate at the firm in both 2014 and 2015. 

          During Ibrahim’s final year of law school, he served as a Judicial Extern for Hon. William M. Skretny in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He also served as Executive Publications Editor for the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review. Before law school, Ibrahim interned at the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.

          Ibrahim received his JD, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and his BA, from the State University of New York at Geneseo.

          Edward A. Trevvett, Member, Harris Beach PLLC
          Ed represents clients in both the public and private sector, focusing his legal practice on providing counsel to employers in all areas of labor and employee relations. His work includes defending employment discrimination claims and Department of Labor matters of all types, along with representing employers in proceedings before administrative agencies including the National Labor Relations Board, New York Public Employment Relations Board, EEOC, New York State Division of Human Rights, and the New York State Education Department.

          His active practice assists clients with negotiating collective bargaining agreements, arbitrating grievances, drafting employment agreements, training managers in sexual

          harassment and other workplace issues, along with reviewing, revising, and developing employee handbooks and policies. Ed provides day-to-day guidance and advice to human resources managers on a variety of employee relations concerns including Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, wage and hour law, progressive discipline and discharge, drug and alcohol testing, union avoidance, and unemployment insurance benefits.


          Ed received his JD, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University, College of Law and his BA from the University of Notre Dame.

          Nan Gallagher, Gallagher Campanella LLC

After earning her JD from New York Law School, she served as the Judicial Law Clerk for the Hon. Mahlon L. Fast, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County, Civil Division.

          Ms. Gallagher is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, the District of Columbia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
