In recent years, medical practice administrators, coders and billers have found their actions under review when an associated physician or practice is investigated by the government for health care fraud or other wrongdoing.  Are your actions placing you at risk? Join us as we discuss the types of conduct that have resulted in the prosecution of administrative staff members AND steps that you can take to reduce your level of risk.


About the Speaker

Robert W. Liles, Esq.
Liles Parker PLLC


Robert has worked in regulatory compliance as a Federal prosecutor and as defense counsel for more than 25 years. This has provided a unique perspective on the challenges faced by clients in highly regulated industries such as health care, banking and finance. Robert focuses his practice on fraud defense, internal audits, investigations, compliance and regulatory matters.
 
Robert first began working in management after receiving both a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and, subsequently, a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration. He has represented health care providers in connection with government regulatory investigations and audits/reviews.
 
Robert is a nationally-recognized speaker and educator on legal and regulatory issues. Robert currently serves as outside General Counsel for the American Medical Billing Association and is recommended by numerous national associations and organizations to their members.

Continuing Education Units

Earn up to 1.0 continuing education unit hours for each hour of education from the ACMPE, American College of Medical Practice Executives and up to 1.0 continuing professional educational credit hours for Certified Public Accountants for each hour of education from, The New York State Education Department, Professional Licensing Services. Our events are eligible for continuing education units as awarded by other professional associations. We recommend that you contact your professional association for their approval process.
