Operations Management

Treating LGBTQ Patients with Sensitivity in your Medical Practice

Led by the Connecticut MGMA in collaboration with the ny MGMA, pa MGMA, va MGMA, and WV MGMA.

This educational activity will focus on training office staff on sensitivity and inclusion towards the LGBTQ patient population. The program will highlight transgender healthcare disparities and review a brief background of this patient group, emphasizing the importance of this inclusion in the healthcare setting. It will then focus on proper communication and documentation to create a more welcoming environment to the LTBTQ population, including some practice patient examples.
